SVEBF Trust

Preserving Culture. Empowering Generations.

Founded in 1983 under the Charities Act, the Sri Venkateswara Educational Building Fund (SVEBF) Trust was established with a noble vision to create a lasting structure that upholds the principles of Sanatana Dharma, blending spiritual devotion with cultural and educational enrichment.

The founding committee recognised the need for a space where future generations could learn, reflect, and stay connected to their spiritual and cultural roots. That same vision continues to guide us today.

The Educational & Cultural Hall Project

With approval from Wollongong Council in 2019, the upcoming Educational Hall at Sri Venkateswara Temple, Helensburgh will serve as a community hub featuring:

  • Library and Learning Spaces
  • Meditation and Prayer Halls
  • Cultural Activity Centre
  • Spiritual Discourses & Youth Programs

Supporting infrastructure, including a car park and modern toilet facilities, is already complete and available for temple and community use.

Final planning for the building’s location on temple grounds is currently underway.

Our Mission

At the heart of Hinduism lies a timeless philosophy - a way of life built on inquiry, compassion, and truth. The SVEBF Trust supports this essence by:

  • Promoting Hindu religious and cultural education in Australia
  • Creating opportunities for the younger generation to engage with stories, arts, festivals, and values from sacred texts like the Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita
  • Fostering self-realization, righteous living (dharma), and service (seva)

Through our proposed Educational and Cultural Hall, we aim to create a welcoming space for spiritual learning, community bonding, and interfaith understanding.
